SHENZHEN DESIGN WEEK
Shenzhen Design Week aims at building an international, professional cross-category platform for the design industry. This large-scale platform will facilitate international cultural exchange, enhance city branding and promotion, showcase global design achievements, and contribute to public education on design.
Shenzhen Design Week is programmed annually according to different themes and focuses. It will include a number of regular events and activities, such as Guest City, Cities of Design, Design Award, SZ-HK Design Twin-Cities, Design Tour, Design Talks.
From a small fishing village in the early 1980s, Shenzhen is now a thriving metropolis in southern China with a population of more than 15 million. Due to its flourishing design industry, Shenzhen was designated a City of Design by UNESCO in 2008. Our strengths cover many different design categories, including graphic design, product design, architecture design, and interior design.
Beginning in April 2017, Shenzhen will organize Shenzhen Design Week annually. This will be the biggest design festival in Shenzhen, with various design events and activities taking place all over the city for a week. Designers and related industry players from around the world are all welcome to participate.
Sponsored by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Shenzhen Design Week is organized by the Shenzhen City of Design Promotion Office with the Shenzhen City of Design Promotion Association (SDPA) serving as the Secretariat.
Shenzhen Design Week is an international annual design event engineered by the local authorities to support design communities. The first edition, which will kick off in late April 2017, will be sponsored by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, directed by the Shenzhen City of Design Promotion Office, and organized by the Shenzhen City of Design Promotion Association.
It aims to provide platforms for international exchange, communication and cooperation in various design categories. It will also provide good opportunities for designers from around the world to showcase their talents through events such as exhibitions, workshops, and forums.
Scholars, policy makers, managers, students in relevant fields and professional designers from all over the world are welcome to participate in these events, which will all take place during the course of a single week in different parts of the city.
