The Design Exhibition of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area brings together hundreds of works by more than 100 most representative designers in the bay area.
With the increase of China’s overall strength, the construction and export of cultural soft power has become part of the national strategy. With graphic design growing deeply in China and playing an important role in modern business and daily life, the creative new economy becomes increasingly important. The nine cities and two special administrative regions within the bay area are the places with the most concentrated design resources, the most frequent design activities and the most significant design results in the country in more than 30 years of reform and opening up. Deepening inter-city cooperation in this area, promoting the integration of industry resources and strengthening design practice and theoretical research are our responsibilities and opportunities given by the times.
The Serial Design Activities of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, hosted by the Shenzhen Design Week Organizing Committee, organized by the Shenzhen Graphic Design Association (SGDA), and jointly organized by many institutions in the bay area, will open at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Museum of Urban Planning during the Shenzhen Design Week in April 2018. As a core project of Shenzhen Design Week 2018, the event will showcase and reflect on design’s relationship with the bay area, cities, economy, culture, life and other aspects through design exhibitions, academic forums and designer exchanges.
The International Design Forum of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is among the serial activities. Several representative guests from some bay areas in the world (one from New York, two from Tokyo, one from Hong Kong and from Shenzhen) woll gather at the forum to share their views.
